Project Imo upholds a strict nondiscrimination policy, ensuring that no individual shall be discriminated against based on race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of our activities or operations. This commitment applies to staff hiring and termination, volunteer and vendor selection, and service provision. We strive to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our team, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, and vendors.
As an equal opportunity employer, Project Imo takes measures to prevent discrimination in employment, recruitment, advertisements for employment, compensation, termination, promotions, and other employment conditions. We do not discriminate against any employee or job applicant on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, veteran’s status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

Project Imo fully complies with all federal statutes related to non-discrimination, including but not limited to:
- Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin.
- Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as amended, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex.
- Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of handicaps.
- The Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of age.
- The Drug Abuse Office and Treatment Act of 1972, as amended, relating to non-discrimination on the basis of drug abuse.
- The Comprehensive Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation Act of 1970, as amended, relating to non-discrimination on the basis of alcohol abuse or alcoholism.
- Sections 523 and 527 of the Public Health Service Act of 1912, as amended, relating to confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patient records.
- Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, relating to non-discrimination in the sale, rental, or financing of housing.
- Any other non-discrimination provisions in specific statutes under which application for Federal assistance is being made.
- The requirements of any other non-discrimination statutes which may apply to the application.
Filing a Discrimination Complaint at a Project Imo event
Project Imo prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, familial status, disability, limited English proficiency, or source of income, in all our programs. In programs funded by Project Imo, discrimination is also prohibited based on political beliefs and limited English proficiency.
